A BREATH, A BREAK

Why is so easy to keep writing once you’ve started, and so hard to get going again once you’ve stopped? It’s always real life getting in the way, for me. Karin always asks me to share photos when I’m out doing things, and I always have to answer that I didn’t take any. I’m usually so busy living in the moment that don’t even think about taking photos. It’s the same with writing here…I’m often so busy living in the moment that I don’t take the time to sit down and write about it.

I’ve had a crazy busy three weeks both with work and my social life and this morning, I was a total slug until 10:30 am. Since I’m up to go to the bathroom multiple times a night, I don’t sleep well, but this morning, even so, I managed to feel rested when I woke.

Anders and I have put the garden mostly to bed and removed the deck furniture. He’s cleaning the grill and is washing the deck in anticipation of being able to oil it one more time, hopefully tomorrow, so that’s it protected for the winter. He still has to take the garden swing apart but that can wait until tomorrow.

We’re going to Maria and Mikael’s for dinner, but it’s been an easy day, despite the previous paragraph. I have one load of laundry going, and I just finished finalizing and uploading the newsletter PDF and all the minutes to the AIC website, and writing a blog post was the last thing on my to-do list for today, otherwise. Tomorrow, all I have on my to-do list is strip and wash the bed linens, and water the indoor plants, as well as washing the garden swing cover.

It’s chilly and overcast today, though the sun was shining when I woke up this morning. I just looked at the calendar, and hallelujah, there is absolutely nothing scheduled in the evenings after work all next week! Plenty of time for me to work on the latest photobook project and read to my heart’s content.
