READY TO GO

By the time you read this, I’ll be gone. HA! What a way to start a post. I’m leaving, on a jet plane. But I know when I’ll be back again, because that’s how round trip tickets work.

I woke up at 3 am on Thursday night, sick as a dog, and throwing up. Fever, etc., all the not-fun stuff of a stomach bug. Sick all day Friday which meant not being able to go the office for our consultant’s last day in Lund, her farewell lunch, getting stuff done, printing necessary papers, and then also having cancel my hair appointment, and worst of all, dinner with Debbie and Ola, and Camilla (and Anders). AUGH.

Thankfully, I was able to work the couple of hours necessary to get everything I needed done, close out all my ticket jobs, and even handle a last minute PPT request during the periods where I felt halfway human. Anders changed the ink cartridges in our printer so I was able to print the papers at home, and I slept the rest of the day.

I feel much better today: stomach had settled by the time I woke up, even though I was up in the middle of the night for 2 hours. Martin came for dinner and Anders made his delicious rosé pepper salmon with new potatoes and broccoli. We had pear and lemon biskvi for dessert, and I just took him to the bus.

Both Karin and I are (mostly) packed and ready. I have a short list of things not to forget that have to go in the suitcase in the morning, and I have to water the plants and then Anders will take us to the train station. Our flight doesn’t leave until 12:30 so no stress at all. I just hope I won’t be up again at 4 am! And when I checked in this morning, our seat selections were great: aisle seats on both legs and a window as well on the second flight (smaller plane). So that makes me very glad I didn’t spend all that extra money to reserve a seat for a ridiculous price.

I probably won’t post much, if at all, while we are gone for these 3 weeks; we’ll see. We have plans for nearly every day we are in the US, so not exactly a super relaxing vacation, but that’s okay: it will be fun and it’s all stuff we want to do. And there are days I’ll be working so Karin can go play with her cousins or go to the mall with mom or whatever.

Hasta la vista baby!
