BABBLING BLABBITER

Hmmm. I don’t know what to write about. I’m in a bit of a writing funk these days. Haven’t I already told you everything about me? (no) Haven’t you already learned all you could possibly care about when it comes to my opinions and ideas? (probably) Aren’t you sick of me yet? (never!)

Anders is in Tingsryd until tomorrow. Karin has a sore throat but felt compelled to go to work today regardless and has to go tomorrow and Thursday as well for partner events that she is coordinating as there isn’t really anyone to hand them over to. She is missing a thank you dinner tonight for a previous event. We left the office 15 minutes early today as she was feeling so poorly and we stopped and bought throat lozenges and then she promptly passed out on the sofa.

It’s cold and really overcast now but it was sunny earlier today. I went for a walk at 5 and the chilly air made it easy to keep it brisk. I’m listening to Spotify’s discover weekly list curated for me right now, but have only put one of the songs on my list so far. I like that my playlist is all over the place: all different genres, all different decades, all kinds of singers, artists, bands.

I was super frustrated at work this morning due to one guy and his ridiculously slapdash way of working. He has a huge project with 26 different how-to guides that an agency has done the layouts for. I am finalizing them which means checking everything, inserting correct links, linking to images in the library, getting the final approval on each one, uploading them to our database, and providing links back to him. It’s been half-assed from the beginning, with having to wait for things that were supposed to come first, and didn’t, and then one frustrating thing after another. Today it was finding out that I couldn’t unzip any of the zip files of packaged source files because the file names were TOO LONG.

I sent an email to the agency asking them to please shorten all the file names and rezip them and send them again, and he stopped them and said he could do it. Except he COULDN’T. He just shortened the ZIP FILE names, and in the process managed to delete THREE folders of guides that were either already done or in progress. Only to be told that I still couldn’t unzip them because the file names of the files INSIDE the zip file were ALSO too long. SHEESH. Then he put in a translation ticket for all 27 files despite the fact that we can’t send them to translation until all of them are actually DONE. We finally got everything straightened out and thank god I was able to recover the three folders. I hope it goes smoother tomorrow so I can get them all done.

It’s been a pretty stressful week and it’s only TUESDAY. GAH.

Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go call my niece who turned THREE years old today. How time flies!
