RELAX TO THE MAX

I have a feeling that posting will be light for awhile, if I don’t manage to write anything else before vacation. I have 3.5 more days (half because Thursday morning I have the MRI appointment) of work, and MAN, do I have short-timers syndrome. I am SO ready for vacation. All my co-workers are back in the office and the first thing they ask, of course, was how was your summer vacation? and when I say I haven’t had it yet, the look of shock on their faces is hilarious. And then pitying, as they realize that means I have worked all summer. But I have 4 weeks off ahead of me, starting Friday, and I intend to enjoy every second of it. I’m gonna relax to the max!

Haha, how 80s that sounds! Everything was “to the max” back then.

Today, after work, I had a massage, and I feel like I basically melted into a puddle, since it was really hot and muggy and Emily’s locale was not much cooler than outside. Tomorrow, Martin and I, along with Debbie and Camilla, are going to a bookbinding workshop. Martin and I went to the same one back in the spring, and we both wanted to do it again. I’m taking the book I made last time with me to show off, since I used it as a travel journal while we were in Rome. We’ll be going back to the same lady again in September, all of us, plus my mom and sister but for papermaking instead of bookbinding. We’re supposed to bring old sheets and flower petals, so tonight I’m going to gather rose petals from the withered blooms on the bush out front (which is still blooming, by the way).

I can tell it’s the end of summer. All the verges are full of tall, golden grass. There are haybales in all the fields. The flies are getting more aggressive, and I might have eaten the nearly last harvest of snap peas from our garden today. We still have plenty of potatoes but we’re going to dig up and bring a few bags of them with us to Bornholm for the week we are there. We’re in charge of at least 2 dinners, and potatoes will play a large part!

Our AIC editor realized today that she had completely forgotten about putting together and publishing our August newsletter at the end of July, and I had completely forgotten about it, too! We’ve decided that rather than stress, we’ll just put one out at the end of August for both August/September and pretend like it never happened, haha!
