FEVER WHEN YOU HOLD ME TIGHT

Karin was up most of the night, crying out in her sleep and ended up in our bed early this a.m. Turns out this morning she’s running a temp so I’m home with her. But we’ll be out and about anyway, as she’s not deathly ill, so she’s going to accompany me to lunch and grocery shopping, and perhaps into the office for an hour. Am I a bad mom? LOL Martin also has a growly cough coming on and is sounding very hoarse, but since he had school pictures today, we sent him off. Definitely a bad mom. 🙂...

MONEY MONEY MOOOOOOONEY

Things I’ve spent money on in the past few weeks that I shouldn’t have: rubberstamps and lots of ’em paper collage thingies more paper and pretty things from the craft store sushi dinner 4 out of print books from my books-to-buy list foundation make-up (after dropping my quarter-full bottle on the bathroom tiles CRASH! SPLATTER!) my lovely domino brooch (which I refuse to feel guilty about) Things I’ve spent money on that I’m not mentally beating myself up over: renewal fee for Martin’s U.S. passport registered letter envelope to mail said passport back to me groceries & gas dentist visit:...

CHATTERBOX

This morning I stirred around 5:30 a.m. and realized that Martin was in the room with us. Anders got up shortly thereafter to shower and they had breakfast together and were finished around the time I got up at 6:45. From the time they got into the kitchen, Martin was talking non-stop. He talked for nearly an hour. When Anders came to say goodbye just after I’d gotten out of the shower, I asked him, “WHAT is he talking about? He’s been talking for an hour!” Anders laughed and just shook his head, and told me that you don’t actually...

LALALA

Just got home from choir. I’m so excited about starting to sing again. Singing used to be more important than breathing to me, 20 years ago, in my “former” life. I’m glad that I’m finding my way back to so many of the things I used to do and love 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’ve been thinking a lot about the comments I’ve been hearing lately and the complaints about the weather turning colder, and I have to say that I’m thrilled that it’s autumn, even if it IS a little early. I suspect we’ll have some warm weather again before...

BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS

Not bad, I think, but I obviously have some library visits to make. And could someone explain why there are so many Terry Pratchett books on this list?!

MADE MY DAY

One of my very good friends, Val, who incidently is the only friend from the States to have visited me since I moved to Sweden, got in touch with me today. We had a nice long talk. She’s been reading my LJ and has been so excited because she’s been getting back into rubberstamping and scrapbooking, too. She’s the person that introduced me to rubberstamping in the first place, nearly 7 years ago. Things are going great for her right now, she’s lost a ton of weight and has a spandy new boyfriend. 🙂 I miss her!!! So it was...

WOO HOO

What a fun evening I had! Had sushi for dinner with galestorm and some of the girls, and then went to the first AWC meeting of the year. It was a good one with an interesting speaker, who is one of the founders of the newly opening Tri-lingual Montessori School in Lund. At one point she said they were looking for help with translating their website and materials from Swedish to English, and I’ve just sent her an email to let her know that I’m interested, and would be willing to work out a deal to get extra-curricular English class...

THERE’S A BEAR OUT THERE!

Background: Kathey is one of my best friends who used to live in Sweden, and now lives in Sydney, Australia. Russell is her husband. Russell sent me this email, titled, “Damn you two!” The three of us were in a house together and a small but very dangerous looking bear was trying to get in and he was very dangerous because he had very long black claws and he was very angry looking and he was trying to knock down the door and the door was very flimsy and was about to break off and I was trying to hold...

WHEN THE MUSE COMES

Sleeping in must motivate me somehow. Maybe it just clears my head. 🙂 Anders took the kids to a birthday party this afternoon and was gone for three hours. During which I did pages 4 & 5. They’re facing pages and the colors are very similar just like in the last set. I love the dried leaves, they’re called Monet leaves, but I don’t know if that’s the actual name of the plant or what. These are the ones I was talking about, galestorm, if you want some, as I have LOTS.
