It’s our wedding anniversary today. We’ve been married since June 1, 1996. That’s 27 years. Pretty crazy to think about! We aren’t doing anything today, celebrating, or having dinner, or anything, because Anders is away all week up north in Kumla. He comes home tomorrow, but I already have plans for dinner and a show with Debbie and Camilla. It’s also Debbie’s birthday today. Her husband is ALSO traveling, and I just sent her a text asking her why the two of us didn’t get together and do something, which she laughed at.
We don’t usually do much for our wedding anniversary, to be honest. One year, we completely forgot until late in the evening. Sometimes I get flowers, sometimes we go out to dinner, but it’s pretty low-key and that’s okay. In 2011, Anders was traveling, too: we exchanged emails. This year, we exchanged texts, hahaha! I haven’t even written much about our wedding on my blog, though I did write a post in 2012 on our 16th anniversary. Maybe we’ll do something big for our 30th anniversary, that would be fun. But what, I don’t know. I have 3 years to think about it, anyway.
I married a good guy, and I’m so glad I did.
We look like such kids in that photo, but we were over 30! 27 years in, and we rub along pretty well together, still, though life has its definite ups and downs and we both drive each other crazy continually in various ways. The commitment is still there, though, and that’s what matters, right? That and the love that means the driving each other crazy is at least well-oiled.
