It’s been a crap week so far, and it’s only Tuesday. I’ve had it up to here with certain things and I honestly feel like I’m at the snapping point daily, at work. URGH. Just thanks to human nature, and you’d think I’d be used to it by now, but instead I feel like it’s having the opposite effect: I am LESS tolerant of such things than I used to be. And I apologize for being cryptic, but you just never know who is reading.

ANYWAY. It was supposed to be sunny all week and yesterday was absolutely gorgeous. But today: back to grey and foggy and cold. It didn’t rain at least and I am walking at lunch again, so there’s that. The sky was pure black clear star-studded gorgeousness tonight when I wen to pick up Karin from soccer practice, so that makes me hopeful that tomorrow will be clear and sunny. Especially since I will be doing a LOT of walking… it’s our corporate company kickoff (as opposed to my department kick off that was last week) and we will be spending the afternoon walking up and down Lund to various activities and presentations. Then we have dinner and entertainment in the evening, so it will probably be a very long day.

Martin lost his free school bus card on the bus today (this is the second time he’s done so in the past year and a half) and he called to tell me after he got to school. The lost-and-found place for the buses is in the middle of nowhere on the other side of Malmö and they close at 3 p.m. I called immediately to see if it had possibly been turned in, but it was, of course, too early. The woman I talked to said she’d call me back if it came in, but I never heard from her.

He neglected to tell me, until after I picked him up at school at 4 p.m. that, in addition to the bus card, the little wallet that he lost also contained his bank debit card. AAARGH. Luckily, Anders was able to get through to the bank and get the card canceled, but now we have that to add to the to-do list along with getting a new bus card if the lost one doesn’t turn up in lost-and-found. Double ARGH.

Anders and Karin are leaving on Saturday (Valentine’s Day) for a week of skiing in the French Alps. She was upset about the fact that they were leaving on Valentine’s Day until her boyfriend broke up with her…not a word since. Next week is Sportlov, the Swedish school system’s ski week break. Anders used to take both kids every year, but Martin hasn’t wanted to go the past couple of years, so he’ll be home, curled up on the sofa like a shrimp, counting his Tumblr notes and making GIF collections, and playing World of Warcraft, I assume.

I will be working and trying not to go postal despite certain provocation. That’s assuming I get through THIS week without doing so.

We received the news, first thing this morning, that our company is in the throes of being purchased by Canon. I honestly don’t know how to feel about it. Everyone was shocked, and I am a little sad about it. I’ve worked there now for 10 years and it’s a great company. From what we know, if the deal goes through, it’s predicated on our company remaining independent, with no change to our business, brand or headcount, but who knows what the future will bring? I hope it will be a good thing, especially since there isn’t anything I can do about it, regardless.

While I’m at it; other things that have ticked me off lately:
Slow drivers ALWAYS in front of me, chapped lips despite COPIOUS amounts of lip balm, a shirt I love that catches on everything and pulls threads out

On the other hand, there’s these in the world:
Handmade resin bangles embedded with flowers and bark: COVET!!

Maybe I need to do what my college roommate used to do: throw a F*CK FEBRUARY party. Although, if I was going to do it, it really should have been this weekend. Maybe I can get Debbie and Camilla to come over for a girl’s night pajama party or something on Friday or Saturday.

Or maybe I just need MORE SUN.

*Bitch, moan, complain
