SPOUT

It seems like just yesterday the fields were barely blushing, flushed with the beginnings of green. Suddenly, today, after a week of rain and drizzle, it’s so LUSH. Our lawn is full of clover and the grass is a cushiony carpet. All the greens of spring are unfolding faster than thought. You look away and suddenly the chestnut leaves are little dancing skirts. HACK ATTACK

I was supposed to have no plans tonight but… I thought I’d update my journal header and that led to… my playing around with the new layout a nice person gave me ages ago and that meant… hours of doodling and tweaking code on LJ which has left me with… not much left of the evening and a half-assed finished journal layout. O JOY! THAT IN OUR EMBERS IS SOMETHING THAT DOTH LIVE

Yesterday, I was sitting on the sofa for a few moments, reading a chapter in a new and, so far, excellent book, when something caught my eye outside in the yard. At first I thought it was a dog, but it was a hare, a gigantic rabbit, much bigger than a cat, that went lolloping by, its ears perched forward and its impossibly long feet flashing white. We’ve seen him before; he uses our yards, both front and back, as regular shortcuts on his daily bunny commute. Later, driving to Mats’ and Annelott’s home for the yearly Walpurgis Eve bonfire...
