GIVE ME A KISS

Well, I learned today that I shouldn’t apply glue directly to embroidered paper as it discolors it. But I went ahead anyway with my page and hope it doesn’t make it look TOO weird. I’m still debating if there is something else I can apply to it to either cover or change the look of the area where the glue is so obvious. Maybe I can convince everyone that it just adds character. 🙂 Anyway, here’s page 6:

The poem is from Sideshow by Sheri S. Tepper:

MAN
Heaven longing ape
angel who stumbles
blind light beaver
who falls and fumbles
worshiper of error
seeker after truth
hurting and aging
lover of lovely youth
wild beast raging
craven and brave
freak of fashion
and custom’s slave
puppet of passion
lowiest and loftiest
a sideshow gape
god’s fool, nature’s jest
heaven longing ape

A long time ago, I knew how to say “All the better to eat you with, my dear” in Dutch, but I’ve long since forgotten it. Instead, I have a collection of ways to say “Give me a kiss” in different languages. The only thing is that with some of them, I wrote down how to PRONOUNCE them, not how to actually spell them. I can say give me a kiss in Polish, Swedish, Arabic, Spanish, German, Greek and Finnish. Always thought it might come in handy some day, but now that I’m an old married woman, the only person that gets the benefit of my…ahem…education is Anders.

And sadly, I feel a cold coming on. I’m going to go pop Tylenol now and try to head it off at the pass.
