FULL OF BEANS

I signed up for twitter. I must be mad. Now what do I do with it? Do people answer me on it? Do they just read it and nod their heads or squinch up their noses? Here’s a question for you: How many online communities/presences do you have? Can you keep up with them all? How, MY GOD, how do you do it?? Karin is now the proud owner (and wearer) of an over-sized karate outfit in which she reminds me of a rather sharp-cornered, belted schmoo. I have work to be doing. Why aren’t I doing it? My walk...

UP TO MY ASS IN ALLIGATORS

It’s not that I’m not in the mood to write or that I don’t have things to write about…I’m just SWAMPED. I’ve got projects coming out my ears. Even though we had no plans this weekend and I DID sleep in like a total zombie this morning after a completely crazy week, I still seem to have every moment full with things to do and it’s leaving little time for introspection. What’s… a household chore you don’t mind doing? worse than looking foolish, for you? the kind of insect you catch under a cup and carefully put outside instead of...

HERE, HAVE A BULLET: THEY TASTE GREAT AND THEY’RE LESS FILLING!

Anders made the same dish for his birthday dinner tonight that he made for me the first time he cooked me dinner 13 years ago. Shrimp with mushrooms, red peppers, cheese and cream baked in the oven and served over rice. YUMMO. I still haven’t gotten a call back from the girlfriend who had her baby on Thursday, though I left a message days ago. Should I be worried or should I assume that they are just blissed out on That Newborn Smell? Confirmation was received today that 4 weeks in the States didn’t wreck my diet healthy eating plan...

WEEKEND IN PARADISE

I know now what I want to be when I grow up. Honestly. The very best thing about blogging is the people that you meet. It’s a fact that kindred spirits really do exist and though they may live halfway around the world, you can befriend them and learn to know them and maybe, if you are lucky and a little stalkery persistant, actually bamboozle them into opening their home to you for a weekend. They may even provide food! They may even COMPLIMENT YOU ON YOUR HAIR. My mom and I drove into the veritable wilderness a few hours...

PULLING A MEG

Come one, come all, even you lurkity lurkers out there! What hot-button topic gets your blood boiling? If you could travel to any one famous place/sight/attraction RIGHT NOW, where would you go? How many online friends have you met in real life? Were any of them internet psychos? Which kind of lizard do you like best? Iguana, chameleon, gecko, skink, or GILA MONSTER? Do you speak more than one language? If not, which one would you like to learn? What’s your favorite foreign word? Quick: chocolate desserts or dough-and-fruit? How much wood could a woodchuck chuck?* Which gives you more...

WHO NEEDS BULLETPOINTS WHEN YOU’VE GOT ASTERISKS?

A link on an art blog that I check in on now and then was recommending a certain ezine: Get lost for hours and hours! And I thought, who has hours and hours? All you people who have hours and hours to sit and peruse the archives or issues of any website, where do you find the time? I mean, if you don’t do it for work? Okay, I spend hours and hours on the computer, but I’m usually in the middle of 3 or 4 projects: website maintenance, newsletter editing, spider solitaire, book editing, inventory updates, music editing, reading...

IS THERE A 12-STEP PROGRAM FOR BULLETPOINT ADDICTION?

3 things about myself that still need work: Swearing, eyerolling, requiring instant obedience. I had a conversation with the Help Desk at work last week in which I complained about the fact that my computer seemed slower than ever and what can they do to fix it? It wasn’t the lastest updates, they maintained. They checked the memory: fine. They checked the capacity: fine. They checked a whole pile of other things: fine, fine fine. Conclusion: I am too fast for my own computer. In other words, it’s just me. I’ve been on a high, in a good mood for...

ÜH OH

Remember that bonus photo yesterday? Yeah, her. That kid of mine got a blog.* Run for your lives! Anders bought a little adapter thingy and hooked up the cables to my old American stereo tape deck and I’m currently recording the first of my many, many mixed tapes to a .wav file on the computer to be edited and sectioned later for burning onto a CD. Whee! I’m such an über-geek! I’m even geekier because I know how to make a ü without even hesitating. ü ü ü! hahahaha! Umlauts always make me giddy. I met my friend Camilla for...
