SUBLIME SUNDAY

The sky is blue with voluminous, roly-poly clouds meandering slowly by. Dandelions stretch up, reaching for their big sister’s comfort, their wide, bright eyes glowing. The air is warming, though still cool with a slight breeze. Spirea is flinging out its arms garlanded with white lace. The starry leaves of lupines gather on the plushy hillsides. A chestnut horse with black withers frolics around a pasture, trying to entice an older mare to play. He’s kicking up his heels, wheeling back and forth, but she’s having none of him. All of the neighbors are out in their yards, mowing, sowing,...

ROUGH LIFE

Now I remember why I don’t like memes so much…I get no comments. Or maybe it’s because it was a Friday evening and the rest of the world was out doing something fun or cozy or exciting. I thought for sure someone would comment on my dictator of a small country line. 😛 My Friday night, you ask? I was editing photos. It’s tough having such a rock-n-roll lifestyle. I’m actually nearing the end of my year-long procrastination on updating our family website. I had a stated goal of March, but that blew past like a lion. Anyway, all the...

OF COURSE, OF COURSE

I used to be all about the being busy. I thrived on it, it was a buzz; oil in my motor. YOU DON’T DROWN BY FALLING IN THE WATER

Today was a half day of work, but I ended up staying until 2 because I was trying to get as much done as possible due to having tomorrow OFF. woot! Sleeping in, here I come! Anders took Friday off, but I have so much to do still (with no end in sight 🙂 that I didn’t feel it was an option. Tomorrow is “Christ Flew Up to Heaven Day” as literally translated from the Swedish Kristihimmelfärdsdagen.* One of the reasons that I sometimes think about dropping out of choir, aside from the fact that it’s a weekly-plus commitment is...

HACK ATTACK

I was supposed to have no plans tonight but… I thought I’d update my journal header and that led to… my playing around with the new layout a nice person gave me ages ago and that meant… hours of doodling and tweaking code on LJ which has left me with… not much left of the evening and a half-assed finished journal layout. Happy Birthday Wishes to albatrossity!

DROPSY

Things I Dropped Yesterday: a jar of caviar on the tile floor (no breakage!) a kohlrabi 1/2 of a glass bathroom cabinet door (MAJOR breakage) the ball…for not calling a visiting acquaintance from the States the day before she left to go home a huge pile of Christmas cards and paperclips my daughter (after the bath)…okay, I admit it—I pushed her, but only because she SPIT AT ME. Everyone writes better than I do. This is not a plea for affirmation, it’s an observation. There are so many people out there that write better than I do. I’m awed and...
