CENTERING MYSELF IN JANUARY

An old friend shared a hilarious article from The Slate on her FB page, which I laughed out loud about: What kind of Muppet are you? Chaos Theory: A Unified Theory of Muppet Types. The basic premise is that everyone is either an Order Muppet or a Chaos Muppet. I’m pretty sure everyone (including most often myself) thinks that I am an Order Muppet, and they’re not wrong, exactly…but there are definitely days when I am a Chaos Muppet. I identify pretty strongly with Cookie Monster, after all, haha!

This is also made me laugh recently, even though it was originally posted in 2019:

We have no plans this weekend and I am GLAD. I need a couple of true down days. So far, I have slept in like a total slug, which I think I deserve after getting up every hour and a half every night since July (to pee), and waking so often recently with a headache. UGH. It’s a side effect of the meds I am on, and it’s a much better side effect than the original medicine I tried in June, so I’m not complaining, really, but it takes a lot out of you when you never get a solid night’s sleep.

It’s very grey and wintery today, and after I finally got up, showered, dressed, and ate lunch, I finished packing up Christmas. Martin was here overnight on Thursday, and he helped enormously with packing stuff and stripping the ornaments off the tree. The 5 boxes of Xmas stuff are overfull again, and next year I might have to do some purging. I finished packing the last 2 boxes today and then dusted and wiped down all the shelves and tables and photo frames, and dusted all the knick-knacks as I put the house back to “normal”.

In between bouts of cleaning, I have been reading and working on a crossword puzzle. And I just sent off the inquiry to my relatives for updates to the family address list and family tree documents. The first response I got back was about a new baby in the family, born on Martin’s birthday!

I need to work on my blog book, which has been on hold this week since I was working and busy several evenings. The ergonom was at my office again on Thursday to try once more to figure out what is wrong with my workstation situation that is causing me so much shoulder pain, and it might have actually worked this time. I’ll know more next week, since I worked from home yesterday (which wrecked my shoulder thoroughly) and will be working from home on Monday as well. She’s already been 3 times previously and nothing we tried worked, so I really hope the adjustments she made last week will make things better. Having sharp pains in my right should constantly is NO FUN.

Already middle of January, time is already flying. I wish spring would hurry up and get here, though.
