IT’S BEGINNING

Martin and I decorated the house today. That was 3 boxes and 3 huge paper bags worth of indoor decorations. We still have two huge boxes full of decorations just for the tree. I went through all the Christmas decorations a few years ago and got rid of an entire moving box full of stuff (some of it was Martin and Karin’s things), but it kind of feels like I should do it again.

Then again, we do live in a big house, and it’s very mysig to have it all decorated for the holidays. And I only decorate the living/dining rooms and playroom. There isn’t much, apart from advent lights in the windows, anywhere else in the house. We’ll get the tree maybe next weekend, but most likely the weekend after. We’ll see.

Karin was supposed to call an hour ago, but we still haven’t heard from her. She texted me at 2 pm to say she was going to take a nap and would call at 4. I have sent her a couple of text messages, but I have no idea if she’s gotten them or if she’s still sleeping. She said they have coursework from 7 to 10 every day and she’s had no time to think about anything. She’s only been gone for a week but it feels like longer. I sort of keep expecting her to show up, not sure why. Feels surreal to think we won’t see her until the end of April. The only other time she was gone for a long period was when she went to South America several years ago, and that was only, like 3 months or so, because she came home early.

Anders leaves again tomorrow morning for a weeklong business trip up north in Sweden. He was gone 4 days last week. Lots more traveling for him lately. I need to get moving on booking my own work trip to the US in March/April. There were some glitches last week, but I’m hoping I can go ahead now with the plans.

It’s a busy week ahead: AIC meeting on Tuesday with the cookie exchange (I baked today), AIC book group on Wednesday, and a massage on Friday, plus the holiday market and dinner with Debbie and Camilla on Saturday that I kept thinking was yesterday. December starts this week, crazy!
