RABBITS RABBITS RABBITS

The first day of a new year. I haven’t even been outside, but that’s fine. We didn’t get home until after 2 am last night, and I slept hard, waking around 9:30, though I didn’t get up right away. When I did, I got a lot of little things done before settling down on the sofa to read. Martin is at work, and Anders had to drive back to Mats & Annelott’s this afternoon because he forgot his phone at their house last night. Hard to believe that tomorrow is my last day of vacation (even if next week is super short). I’m very glad that I’ve managed not to think too much about work or log in and check on things during this whole week off. I answered a couple of questions via email but that was it. I hope it means that starting up again will be in the right frame of mind and that I’ll be able to stay on an even keel for awhile.

No one comments on this journal anymore. I am guessing that it’s still an issue for non-livejournal people, but it’s kind of a bummer. Part of me doesn’t really care about the comments, but of course, acknowledgment and validation is always welcome. I think about stopping writing sometimes, but not very seriously. And I guess, that if I’m bothering to write a post on the first day of a new year, then I must want to continue. I’m currently trying to download last year’s posts into book format but the server keeps giving me error messages: very annoying. I seem to remember it was a problem last year as well, and that I had to try numerous times before it finally went through.

I need to run to the grocery store, but I’m not feeling very motivated. It’s nice having the quiet house to myself. I opened one of the other new jigsaw puzzles and separated out all the edge pieces but I don’t know if I’ll do anything else, until Martin gets home. We’ll see. It looks super hard; a spiral of rainbow-colored flowers. I’m getting closer to the end of the book I’m reading (Diana Gabaldon’s latest release) which kind of makes me sad, because I know waiting for her next book, which is rumored to be the final one in the Outlanders series, will probably take another 5 or 6 years. I’ll be practically ready to retire by then, haha!

I’ve also sent out the request to family members to send me updates to the contact list and family tree. Some people have sent me updates throughout the year, but there’s always more info that’s missing. I should probably consider making the documents public or something so that my relatives can update the list as they wish, and it wouldn’t be solely my responsibility, but something keeps stopping me. Control issues, most likely. They’d mess up my formatting. 😀

Anyway, I don’t have anything much of interest to add, but I’m glad I got in here and started the year off with a post. Here’s to continuing! God förtsättning!
