NOT SO SWEET SIXTEEN

My yearly goal for 2022 is to do art every month. I did a pencil drawing of a cat for January (and drew a self-portrait for a work contest that I can’t share yet), but for this month, I brought out my old collage book and did a spread. I still have most of my scrapbooking stuff: boxes and drawers and holders stuffed with cool textured papers, and stickers and ephemera. COVID NO-VID

There’s COVID in the house, but even so, it’s hard to tell. Last week, after Anders got back from his ski trip with Karin (she stayed up north at a different ski resort with her girlfriend), his friend & colleague who had been skiing with him called on Wednesday morning to tell Anders that he wasn’t feeling well, had gone to get a PCR fast-result test and was positive. IS IT IN MY HEAD?

I find it hard to reconcile the images of characters I have in my head when reading books with the actor’s portrayal of them onscreen. I tend to keep them separate in some ways, thinking of my own imagined view of them as “MY” characters, and the movie or TV version of them as “OURS”…since that version belongs to everyone who watches the film or the show.
