SHORT AND SWEET

Why is it always the parents of the problem children who spend the most time at parent-teacher meetings being belligerent about the school rules and the classroom routines? Honestly, sometimes you just want to bonk people’s heads together.

Grandma Pangborn’s Ginger Snaps

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda

Cream shortening and sugar, add molasses. Add egg and beat well. Sift dry ingredients together and add to mix. Break off pieces to size and roll into round balls, then roll in sugar. Bake for 10 minutes at 375F.

Where did this day GO? Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday, that’s all I have to say about that, and this wasn’t even a busy week!
