HAPPY HAPPY

The air here smells right, the water here tastes right. My body remembers Michigan. There are red-breasted robins and grey squirrels and black squirrels in the yard. There are 2 pairs of cardinals flitting around. There are deer walking through the woods…the snowy woods.

We have been shopping 4 of the 5 days we have been here, for clothes, for books, for CDs, for food, for STUFF. We have been to a hockey game and our presence meant that the Detroit Redwings won 3-0 (we have the Magic Power). We’ve had our pictures taken and we’ve been up at 4 a.m. and then 6 a.m. and then 7 a.m. and I have had a massage. Oh yum!

I have eaten chicken scaloppini with artichokes, mushrooms and capers, delicious steak, my grandma’s cookies, and had it confirmed on Monday that I’ve lost 20 pounds so far.

We’ve seen 3 cousins and my grandma, and are loving every minute of the time with my mom. My sister and her family arrive tonight and so do my good friends Kathey & Russell and my aunt Judy. More family tomorrow, and even more on Sunday. Tomorrow we are coloring and decorating eggs and having gigantic salad (for lunch) and soup (for dinner) buffets. 5 soups! We’re having turkey noodle, vegetable minestrone-wannabe, artichoke avgelemono, broccoli/garlic and my yummo zucchini soup.

I have only bought 23 books. And 2 magazines. So far.

It is April 6th and the temperature the entire time has been below freezing and it is snowing. SNOOOOOOOOOOwing. We have no mittens, no hats, no boots, and no winter jackets. All of which is my fault though my husband has kindly refrained from reminding me of that fact.

I am very happy to be here. 🙂
