A DOUBLE HANDFUL OF THINGS I’M THINKING ABOUT THESE DAYS

  • Salad’s not so bad, if you add lots of things you like to it.
  • That wasn’t nearly as hard as I thought it would be, why the hell didn’t I start this sooner? I’m STOKED.
  • Martin starts piano lessons this week. Does this mean we have to get a piano? Good god, where would we put it??
  • Karin wants to take karate lessons. Why am I not surprised?
  • WHY doesn’t LJ let you search for communities?
  • Why are some of the books I read as a child and loved not nearly as great as I remember them when I read them to my children? At least in this case, it seems it is just that it was my adult perspective and the advancements of the last 40 years as well as my parental experience getting in the way of my enjoyment of the story: the kids had no problem with it at all and were riveted most of the way through. We just finished reading The True Story of Okee the Otter and I had to continually bite my tongue against berating the author for things she did and expected of a wild animal in her home.
  • Trying to organize a clothing swap with a bunch of lady friends to nail down a date and time is like herding cats. Scratch that, cats would be easier.
  • Is it worth being bothered by the fact that someone I thought was turning into a good online friend, who closed down an excellent blog after a year, and who recently started a new one, didn’t let me know, despite the fact that the new blog links to me? Is that weird or just par for the course when it comes to online relationships?
  • The Mutts comics feed has apparently been closed down. Waah!
  • It’s starting to look like we might be going to the States this spring! Yeeha!
