THE ENVELOPE, PLEASE

Busy days and houseguests are not leaving me much time to either journal or catch up or do much commenting, but thanks to having had the foresight to arrange for a judge for the marriage-advice-poetry contest, I have a post, with content!

First of all, thank you to everyone who participated! I hope you had as much fun thinking up your entries as Liz Elayne and I had reading them, …along with my brother and his new bride who will doubtless take ALL of your advice to heart immediately. 😀

Liz Elayne took her job very seriously and was in deliberations for days, nay, weeks, even through an illness that still has her down (Get better soon, Liz!) but here are the judge’s final decisions:

Grand Prize Winner: DEBR
for her funny and creative and oh so true rhyming verse, DebR will be receiving the Grand Prize of a gen-u-ine German handcarved soldierman incense burner, complete with incense in various scents! Congratulations, DebR!

Runner Up: aswope
for her very succinct and to the point haiku, aswope will be receiving the second prize of a gen-u-ine German handcarved soldierman nutcracker Christmas ornament! Congratulations, aswope!

And finally, as a big thank you to Liz Elayne for being the judge, she will be receiving a darling (and gen-u-ine) handcarved German cavalry officer rocking-riding doohickey.

As for the fact that all the prizes involve soldiers of some sort, I suppose I am just a sucker for men in uniforms. 😛 DebR, aswope and Liz, could you please send me your snailmail addresses to lizardek @ya hoo. com and I will get them all in the mail immediately. Thanks again for everyone’s creativity and participation!
