Not A Good Sign: The first words out of the manager’s mouth were “I don’t want you for this Marketing Assistant job. You are WAY too over-qualified.”
A VERY Good Sign: The second words out of the manager’s mouth were “I want you for ANOTHER position.”
squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
This is a brand spanking new, just formed marketing department within the Technical Services group, and she is looking to hire a Production & Promotions Manager and when she saw my resume she immediately told the HR person and her boss that she wanted ME for it. We hit it off, and had a lot of rapport, and she was very impressed with the work I’ve done and I am very excited about the possibilities involved with this new job.
Now it’s just a matter of her getting permission from her boss to recruit externally for this position, and getting a formal offer, and hopefully no other roadblocks will come up.
I am so thrilled I can’t stop smiling.
