SHORT ATTENTION SPAN THEATER

When Anders came back from Italy last week, he brought home pasta. Not just any pasta, but most especially not the kind you think of when you think of Italian pasta. No, he brought home Mickey Mouse pasta, Winnie-the-Pooh pasta, Zoo pasta, and best of all, just to get a rise out of Karin: Disney PRINCESS pasta! You can get her going just by murmuring “pretty pretty princess” under your breath; and although we try to minimize such teasing it’s not easy to restrain ourselves because she takes it so seriously and makes such hilarious faces while she stomps around...

ROUNDUP

Last week was a 4-day work week, because we got Good Friday off. And this week is a 4-day work week because we get tomorrow, “the day after Easter,” off as well. But! It’s also a 3-day work week because we are taking Friday off and going up to spend 3 days relaxing on the cliffy coast of western Sweden north of Gothenburg. Hopefully, we’ll be able to meet up with studiozoe as well, one of those days. I am still feeling guilty and embarrassed because of my mistake last week. It was a result of too-many-Traceys syndrome. See, I...

IF BOB ISN’T YOUR UNCLE, WHO THE HELL IS HE??

People keep friending me. It makes me feel so cool! I feel like one of the cool kids every time! Do you people know something about me that I don’t know? Because I assure you, I am not one of the cool kids. Aw Cawntrar. hahaha! I always wanted to write that. It drives me crazy when people write “wallah!” but I can understand why. If you’ve only ever heard it said, and never seen it written, how would you know it WASN’T “wallah!” ?? A word I was asked to spell today and then had to go look up...

BLABBLE

What’s up with LJ and the non-delivered comments? I know of several that were posted to my journal and my comments in other people’s journals that I never received via notification. Also, I hereby sing the praises of Peanut Butter M&Ms! WOW. You people in the States can get this stuff any time you want it?? It’s better than crack. Not that I would know. I have the day off work today to attend an “Inspiration Seminar.” I have no idea what to expect. Anders left again this morning. He’ll be home Friday. I have to buy 3 turkeys before...

THE WINTER OF MY DISCONTENT

Is there something to write about that doesn’t sound trite? I feel banal, boring, uninspired. My mind skids in dizzy circles, enumerating the things that need to be done, the things I can’t get out of doing, the things I have to put off doing, the number of hours in a day which don’t add up to enough. 24 would seem an overabundance, but 9 8 7 6 are eaten up by sleeping and 8 are eaten up by working and suddenly it seems I only have half an hour left each day to do all the things that are...

OMG I AM SO BORING

I can’t even imagine attempting NaNoWriMo. You people are all nuts. My stomach is upset, from what I can’t imagine. But my headcold seems to be about gone. Jackie Jernigan’s* collection of short stories and essays is a complete delight. I’m halfway through and loving every page. Her brain is amazing, and her storytelling gift is as big as the sky. Go buy it, it’s worth every penny. I just burped and now I feel better. 😛 I was really craving sushi tonight, but there was none to be had. Inspiration is absent. Yoo hoo! Inspiration! Where are you?? As...

MY MENU CONSISTS OF 2 CHOICES: TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT

Aagh! Just got a notice that my extra userpics are expiring quickly. what to do, what to do? I don’t think I can live with just 15. *** The annual school photos came in the mail yesterday. Martin and Karin have serious expressions in both of theirs, although Karin looks like she’s about to go ballistic on someone, she’s got that glint in her eye. Martin actually looks a little surprised. He told me that they had an English lesson in school today. They had to choose the color of a tomato from a 3-choice list of words. *ROLLS EYES*...

BRAINDUMP

NO ONE tried to guess the puzzle clues??! I’m shocked and disappointed. Okay, they WERE really hard, but STILL! Not THAT hard! I’ve edited the last post to include the answers for you. Use them at your own parties to amaze and confound your friends and family! *** I’m leaving, on a jet plane at six o’clock in the yawning to get to the place where I’m rendevous-ing with the bus. That is WAY too damn early. I have to make some sandwiches and pack a cooler and my weekend bag as well. After we arrive in Stockholm we will...

CAN’T STAND THE EXCITEMENT

It’s a dark day today. Even though the sun was shining when I woke up, and when I fell asleep again, and when I woke up the second time, it’s been cloudy and raining most of the day. A migraine has been sneaking around the back of my neck and I’ve been doing my best to shoo it away…asking for a neckrub from Anders who obliged even though he’d just played hockey and his hands were sore, and taking 2 ibuprofin and then 2 again awhile later when the migraine got cockier, and drinking water and then pepsi max in...
