I met Debbie and Camilla today down in Falsterbo at the Photo/Art Museum. We walked through 2 of the smaller exhibits (Kristian Schuller and Agneta Gynning) and then had lunch in their bistro cafe. We sat for a long time afterwards just talking. It hurts my heart to see how sad Debbie is, and nothing we can say or do really helps. Especially with something that will never stop making her sad, and never stop feeling unfair.
I brought both of them bags of potatoes, carrots, and onions from our garden, which Anders dug up for me this morning, and a bag of cherries for Debbie (Camilla is allergic). We walked through the main exhibition afterwards, which was quite fun. It was many of the best photos from the Swedish teen magazine of the 80s and 90s, OKEJ. Lot of photos of bands and music stars, both Swedish and international. They had a photo booth there as well, the kind where you can take 3 “passport” photos for a few bucks, so we did that, with hilarious results. 😀
I looked through the price list that they had out in the exhibition rooms and was boggled. All of the framed photos were for sale and many of them had little red “sold” stickers on them. They were all upwards of 10,200 EURO. That’s more than $11,600! Crazy. There was also a series of photographs of The Beatles from 1965 in Nice, that the photographer, Christer Forss, had thought didn’t turn out because when he tried to develop them back then they were completely black. He stuck the negatives in a notebook and forgot about them, and 50+ years later, someone digitized them and was able to develop them.
Both of them gave me lots of compliments on my hair, and to be fair, baby Barky was looking exceptionally good today. But they both also said they like it better this short, then my usual shoulder-length, at which point I covered my ears and chanted la la la la I can’t hear you. It’s almost to my shoulders, and I can lift it off the back of my neck. It’s growing as fast as it can, but I wish it were even faster.
It was another sunny summer day, but about 9 degrees cooler than it’s been all week. Yesterday it was up in the low 90s again, but there was a good breeze in the evening when it cooled down and I opened all the windows and the front door to get a cross-breeze. Tomorrow we have no plans, so I thought I would do a little vacation day planning and list-making for what I would like to accomplish during my two weeks of vacation in 2 weeks. It’s completely dead at the office. My manager was back last week and one of the illustrators, but just for the week. Next week on my teammates comes back, but again, just for a week, then Andrea (who is our summer consultant) and I are alone for a week before people start coming back. It’s hard to believe half of this year has already passed. I’m just glad so much of it has been sunny.
