(Warning TMI ahead) Welp so much for my long stretch of not being sick…the last time I was sick with something that WASN’T colitis was the stomach bug that hit me last April, and was the bug that kicked off the whole colitis debacle. I was sick Friday night, started about 1 am and I wasn’t sure if it was food poisoning or what (ate sushi with Martin and Theo around 8 pm earlier)…stomach cramps, then retching and vomiting, and then, oh joy, my old friend diarrhea. It’s Monday now, and still having that though the rest of it was gone by Sunday morning. I sincerely hope it isn’t a repeat of last spring. Either way, I’m on colitis meds and I get the next dose of Zessly on Thursday so that should stop it in its tracks. I hope. (/end TMI)
Anders leaves for Kumla tomorrow morning for work and won’t be back until Friday, by which time I’ll be winging my way to Charlotte. I’m bummed I won’t see him for nearly 4 weeks. I’m seeing the kids for dinner on Wednesday after my hair appointment. Karin gave me shit about not bringing her with me this trip, but she couldn’t have come anyway, what with school and work.
I really hope that the long security lines I’ve been reading about, caused by the non-funding of DHS, won’t affect me when I arrive, but we’ll see. I’m continuously boggled by the amount of idiocy and grift on display in the administration of the country I used to call home. Every day you think it can’t possibly get stupider or worse, and then it does. It’s unbelieveable.
I worked all afternoon yesterday in an attempt to stay on top of the crazy amount of work coming in, because I have to leave a little early on Wednesday and then will miss most of Thursday morning while I’m at the hospital getting my dose. I did about 7 jobs, sending them all off to review, and this morning was gratified as one by one the approvals came in, with very pleased messages of praise for my work. Makes it all worth it! Still have a boatload of stuff and more jobs that came in today, of course. It never ends. But I will be on vacation no matter what as of Friday, for a week, and hopefully things will slow a bit for Easter, and then I can catch up again after I get back.
There’s not really anything I feel like writing about…I just felt the need to post. Posting will probably be super light if it happens at all while I’m in the States, since I won’t be on the computer much for the 2 vacation weeks. I’m listening to Discover Weekly on Spotify right now and putting some new music on my playlist. I downloaded a bunch of Kindle samples yesterday as well, so I’m all stocked up on music and things to read! I’m in the beginning of the new Joshilyn Jackson book right now, and as usual, she has grabbed me and won’t let me go until I’m done with the dizzy read/ride.
