JUST WHAT I DIDN’T KNEE-D

I don’t know if Murphy’s Law is applicable, but my right knee is now borked. Thank goodness the left one is nearly healed, even if I still can’t bend it all the way, because if it was also still a problem, I’d be completely screwed. Started Thursday afternoon, and got progressively worse, limping, sharp pain in the back of my knee when bent or straight. Limping yesterday as well, wore my knee brace on the right side instead. Alvedon and ibuprofen not much help. Got an appointment with Tilda physiotherapist in Löberöd for Tuesday Jan 14 (earliest available). Hurt during the night when moving, and today hurt quite a lot in the morning, both on the back and on the inside front of my right knee. Hurts mostly when I’m changing position or putting pressure on it (walking, etc.). Have been applying Voltaren salve and alternating Alvedon/Advil which has helped a lot. And I have my crutches easily to hand, if I should need them.

UGH!! I didn’t go to Ingvar’s today with Anders to continue helping with the clean-up, which really bummed me out, because I want to help there. They made a lot more progress, went to the dump twice and have now emptied the porch and storage room. Maria packed up dishes, etc., which is what I was going to do. They’ve hired a real estate agent, so we need to get finished with the purging so they can take photos, and do the inspections.

So instead, I very slowly have spent the day packing up Christmas here. I had already gotten all the tree ornaments packed into their individual boxes, so first I got those all packed into two moving boxes. Then (again, slowly) gathered up all the decorations from around the house, and am now getting those put into THEIR moving boxes. Doubtful I will be done today as I have to keep stopping to put my leg up and rest my knee.

Anders got home around 4:30 but is resting for a bit. I don’t know what we’re doing for dinner, but am inclined to order out, though I don’t think he’s willing to drive anywhere to pick up food, and I sure don’t want to (though I can if I must). It’s quite cold today, though we did have some sun. Strangely, no birds on the feeders at all, so either not enough sun, or too cold. I filled up all of them again so if it’s sunny tomorrow, they’ll be ready for feathered visitors.

I’m nearing the end of formatting my blog book, am in the middle of adding the Facebook status updates. It takes longer than it used to because I post my good things list every day. That’s a lot of status updates. I’m not sure what I want to do about Facebook. I just deactivatede my Twitter/X account, which was long overdue since I never really posted or used it at all anyway. And I have several friends who have ditched FB completely, though I won’t do that. My feed is pretty much ONLY advertising now, since so many people have stopped posting at all. Will I be the last person posting there as well as blogging?

What else is new? Karin is in Canazei for a week leading a ski safari for Lion & Alpin. Martin is fine, nothing new to report. I was planning to get plane tickets for my US trip in March, but now I think I should wait until after my physio appointment on Tuesday. God forbid I should buy tickets and then not be able to walk. Hrmmm.
