BUNNY BUNNY BUNNY

Just like you are supposed to say “rabbit rabbit rabbit” on the first day of the month, I feel like there should be something you say on the LAST day of the month. Like everyone else, I’m a bit boggled that it’s already the end of November. Maybe I should say “bunny bunny bunny” now! That sounds legit.

I’ve made an excellent start on my holiday to-do list. Wrapped up the few gifts that have to be put in the post, just have to get them into padded envelopes and INTO the post. Unfortunately 3 of them were supposed to go home with mom and Sarah so I wouldn’t have to mail them, but wouldn’t you know it, they arrived yesterday, a week too late. Suck. I’m a good ways into Christmas shopping, actually, only have a few more things to get. And I wrote the Xmas letter today. Just have to get it printed and then I can write and mail Xmas cards next week. The list isn’t long, so it won’t take much time.

And I contacted the healthcare clinic to get an appointment set up with the diabetes doctor about my stupid feet, something I was putting off, and dreading doing. I don’t really feel relieved, but we’ll see how it goes. I have to go Friday morning to give blood, and the appointment is the following week. Monday I have a call from the knee doctor…FINALLY.

Things are speeding toward the end of the year, but I will have nearly 3 weeks off, which is amazing. Because both Christmas and New Years are in the middle of the week, we don’t have to take many vacation days to get a ton of time off. And my team has been really good about offering to work the few business days, so I’ve ended up with only having to work a half-day (possibly a full day) on January 2, and I’m off otherwise after December 20 until January 7! And that’s only using FOUR vacation days! Not too shabby!

We have Martin’s (and Theo’s) birthday to celebrate next weekend, plus we need to get the Christmas tree and get it decorated, and I need to go through my lists and bags and see what is left to deal with gift-wise. And then I just need to get on finalizing the bank transfer from the other IRA to my bank here in Sweden and find out if the first one ever got my letter of instructions.

Debbie and I went to see Wicked tonight. Nearly 3 hours long and it’s only part 1. Urgh. And we have to wait an entire year for it, double ugh. I enjoyed it, apart from the inevitable bladder issues that come with such a long film. The sets are amazing, the singing even more so, and Ariana Grande is priceless. It’s kinda making me want to reread the book, since I read it so long ago that I don’t remember much of the details. I remember loving it, though. I have another book that’s also a take on Oz, called Was by Geoff Ryman. Maybe I’ll reread them both.

Tomorrow Anders and I and Karin are going down to Ingvar’s house again to continue the work of sorting and purging stuff. We’ll stop and make a trip at the dump, and then the plan is to get the attic emptied. We’ll see how far we get. Since we’ll be getting up early and spending the whole day there, I’ll probably forget to start the month off right, so I’ll just say it now: rabbit rabbit rabbit!
