2 months to Christmas, eeek!! I have actually already gotten several Christmas presents and stocking stuffers but still have a lot to do in that regard. But right now, my focus is on preparing for mom and Sarah’s visit and then for Friendsgiving. They will be here late on Monday night, hurrah!
Yesterday, I slept in and then had a rather lazy morning. But I made up for it after I got up. I cleaned everything in sight. Bathrooms, kitchen, floors, dusted, vacuumed, windexed, etc. And I did a boatload of laundry: all the bedding for all the beds, all the towels, all the rugs. Everything is spic and span and my entire to-do list is nearly done. All I have left are wash windows and clean fridge, and the windows were more of a wish than a to-do. Plus it’s quite cold and probably going to rain today so no window-washing will happen.
Both Martin and Karin’s rooms have been tidied up and turned into guest rooms, beds made, and a towel ready. I’m off work tomorrow, but will probably work a little bit regardless, just to keep caught up. Then will go to the grocery store in the afternoon, and finally off to the airport to collect them, rather late, as their plane doesn’t land until after 10 pm!
Sarah is only here for 2 days, then is leaving for Ireland. We are planning to go to Copenhagen on Tuesday to meet up at Karin’s apartment, and have dinner, then watch election returns until our heads explode. Wednesday we are going to Malmö in the evening for pottery painting. I’m working half days the rest of the week, so will be in the office until lunchtime and then home, apart from Thursday when I’m taking Sarah to the airport in the morning, and working from home in the afternoon. She’ll be back on the 18th and we’ll have the rest of that week (I’ve taken it off) to play, and enjoy each other’s company.
I’ve also written the letters to both of the financial institutions in the US and have all the paperwork together, signed, and notarized (which cost a ridiculous amount of money so I hope it’s approved), and will print the letters and copy everything and mail them as soon as I have a chance. It’s been quite a complicated process and I really hope that they will accept everything and make the requested transfers so that I have my retirement fund money here where I’ll be able to get at it once I actually retire.
Quite pleased with the amount of chores and stuff I have gotten done this weekend, and since most of it is done, I can have a lazy afternoon today, reading!
