TOO MUCH TO SEE STRAIGHT

Sometimes I wonder why I bother writing here. I know I say it’s for me, for posterity, etc., but when you are blogging and no one ever comments, it’s a little unmotivating. I suppose it’s my own fault, since I don’t a) market this blog at all or, b) write regularly enough. My family says they read it, but I don’t think anyone else does.

And man, I’ve been lame lately. I blame work. The crazy at work. I’ve been back for 4 weeks after vacation and it’s been non-stop crazy and super stress. I really hope it starts leveling down a bit or we are all going to lose it. It’s no fun being stressed all the time, when the work itself should be fun. It’s hard to enjoy the fun parts when the rest is so ridiculous.

Tomorrow is the 25-year anniversary dinner party for the AWC/AIC. We managed to get 25 people signed up (and paid), which was also stressful because we have 162 members and our President had to aggressively send out reminders, and still it was very touch and go right to the last minute if we’d even break 20. Some people told us it just wasn’t in their budget, which, fair enough, but I do wish we’d been able to get more of the old-timers to come. It will be fun, regardless, and we have giveaways, and table cards, and a big welcome sign, and the food at the restaurant is good. I’ve written a stupid speech talking about the history and rah-rah, and roped poor Anders into coming. He and the President’s husband will be the only 2 non-members, and there will only be one other guy (a brand-new member).

Right now, while I’m writing this, I’m ALSO going through old CDs of photos from club events going back to 2002. Pretty funny to see what we looked like back when the kids were small, and to fun to see all those old, familiar faces of friends long-gone. It’s taking forever, though, as the PC seems to be really slow at loading photos so I can see what they are before I copy and paste ones. I’m trying to pick ones that show people who are going to be at this dinner, but it’s an awful lot of photos of ME, haha! But I guess that’s what you get, when you consider that I’ve been in the club since the beginning 25 years ago, and went to nearly all the activities for years and years, and these CDs are all MINE to begin with. 😀

Anyway, I need to concentrate on the photo job or I won’t get it done before I collapse into bed, and I don’t want to stress out it about on top of everything else I am stressing out about, so sayonara. Hopefully I will write again soon!
