GEARING UP FOR GOBBLING

Nice things about walking on a dark, chilly, wet night (when it’s not actually raining):

  • Dragonbreath
  • No sweatbands required
  • Streetlights make everything sparkly!
  • That Halloweeny-evening feeling
  • Increased chance of frog sightings

Things that have run out in front of my car in the past few days:

  • Female pheasant with a death wish
  • Village cat
  • MAN. ON THE HIGHWAY. NO REFLECTORS. Idjit.

Things that were big and round in the sky this morning:

  • Gigantic shiny silver full moon hovering above the horizon ahead of me
  • Great glowing globe of fire hovering above the horizon behind me

Things I am thinking an awful lot about lately:

  • Peanut butter kiss cookies
  • Reindeer poop cookies
  • Creme-filled sandwich cookies
  • Iced sugar cookies in holiday cut-out shapes
  • Pumpkin-chocolate chip bar cookies
  • Fudge puddle cookies
  • Rice Krispie holly bar cookies
  • Almond paste sandwich cookies
  • Can you tell it’s nearly Christmas cookie season??

It’s all Martha Stewart’s fault…I bought her November Thanksgiving issue of Living and this recipe for Triple Chocolate Pumpkin Pie nearly killed me just with the photos. And then this Baked Artichoke Hearts side dish delivered another blow. And then this advertisement for a cookie recipe that isn’t even Martha’s finished me off: Peanut Butter Blossoms.

I’m SO IN THE MOOD for turkey and stuffing and mashed potatoes and gravy and stuffing and pumpkin pie with whipped cream and Christmas cookies and leftover turkey sandwiches and stuffing. And stuffing. And cookies. And pie. Mmmm…pie.

I think I’d better get walking.

Best & Brightest Birthday Wishes to davesanngel!
