LOOKING BACK ON HOW IT WAS IN DAYS GONE BY

Why do birthdays stick me with earwormy songs about time passing and aging? Last year I wrote about the things I had accomplished between the previous birthday and the one I was having, and I figure that’s as good a way as any to end my nice day today 🙂

Passed my 3-year online journaling milestone a couple of days ago.

Celebrated my 10 year wedding anniversary.

Fulfilled a lifelong dream of traveling to Scotland.

Continued loveloveloving my job, even though it continually kicks my ass.

Sang at my baby brother’s wedding.

Enthusiastically joined in with the wonderful Poetry Thursday crowd.

Had many mixed feelings…about mixed feelings, among other things.

Killed a cat.

Hosted my mom (twice!), my Aunt Judy, my sister and her family, and my good friends Kathey & Russell during the course of the year.

Sang in Globen with 3000 other choir members and Kjell Lönnä.

Bounced on a giant trampoline.

Didn’t update a damn thing on my family homepage ALL YEAR except my booklist. But I DID, after all, read 102 books.

Ate 42,003 pieces of sushi.

Began receiving pages for a friendship book from lovely people all over the blogosphere.

Re-learned how much I enjoy canoeing.

Stole someone’s lunch and admitted my criminal past to my daughter.

Allowed Tracey to shoot my children.

Partied with brief_therapy, ibyi, shazzerlive, kejn, misschili, natooke, idahoswede, reebert, studiozoe, knacke_brod, sandykins57, berchshill, scubatoe_eimi, e11en, kachunknorge, blue_eyed_girl, jax_in_sweden, georgiamars, and probably at least 1 or 2 other people that I’m forgetting…I blame it on my advanced age, if so.

and cut the list short here because really, I packed a LOT of stuff into this last year.

Once again, hugs and kisses to all of you who called, left messages, sent cards and ecards, posted funny photos and greetings and comments wishing me a Happy Birthday. Thanks to my family, and to you, it was. 🙂
