I just picked another big handful of snap peas and found 2 decent-sized cucumbers, a week after I thought we were done with both for sure.
Today was a nice easy, stress-free start to work after 3 weeks of a very relaxing vacation. I’m very glad that it was so, and that a bad day didn’t wreck all the recharging I did. Almost everyone is back from vacation, though one of my team members is sick. Hugs all around this morning! I had plenty to do, and a fun layout to work on, plus a new project to begin (the annual holiday card). It’s nice that everyone is in a good mood even though the summer is coming to an end. I think we did a much better job this year of making sure that enough people were working during the downtime so no one got stressed out. I hope it stays this way for a while, though I know stress and crazy will catch up with us eventually; it’s inevitable.
I like days like this. The weather was perfect, sunny and not too hot, with a nice breeze and totally blue skies. Work was good and when I got home, I did a bunch of little chores like starting the dishwasher, taking out the recycleables, etc., before I sat down to play iPad games. I started a new book and so far it’s grabbed me immediately, which is also nice. Now I’m listening to Spotify’s Discover Weekly before I work a bit on my present project and then on the crossword I’m in the middle of. I even had time to print out the bank forms I need to fill out and send back to the US to start the process of moving my IRAs over to Sweden.
And this week is a busy one, so is next week. Here is the schedule of things coming up soon I’m looking forward to:
Tuesday: first AIC meeting and scavenger hunt in Malmö
Wednesday: eye appointment and dinner with Martin and Theo (sushi, of course)
Thursday: AIC bookgroup (already done with the book last week)
FRI/SAT/SUN: no plans!
Tuesday: hair appointment
Wednesday: X-ray of my knee (FINALLY!)
Thursday: Dinner and a film (Present Laughter with Andrew Scott) with D&C
Sunday: A Midsummers Night’s Dream live at Malmö Castle with D&C
And later: lunch with the Axis girls for my birthday, a massage as soon as I can get it scheduled, pottery painting, a 60th birthday party (not mine), thrifting with Martin, and getting Karin moved to Copenhagen!
Bring it on, Autumn! You’re full of good stuff.
