It’s only Thursday of my first week of vacation, and I’m already more halfway through my clean/sort/purge list. I’ve done the our bedroom (my stuff at least), study, living room, bathrooms, playroom hallway, dining room, front hall closet, and today I went through all the drawers in the kitchen, and cleaned out the pantry. I still have some of the kitchen cabinets to look through, so I’m not counting the kitchen as done yet. It’s very satisfying: purging. Even when there’s not that much to purge. But the pantry got a MAJOR cleanout, which was way overdue. It’s been a very productive AND relaxing week so far, so I’m quite happy about that. I still have Martin and Karin’s rooms, the playroom, and the laundry room as well as the rest of the kitchen, but none of that will take very long. Even though I’m quite busy from tomorrow through Wednesday next week, the following Thursday and Friday we have no plans and I won’t have a car, so I’ll be able to finish everything up!
There was no alarm set this morning, but wouldn’t you know it, I still woke up at 7:45 because I had to go to the bathroom. I was a slug for about an hour after that, then got up and did some stuff around the house, read for awhile, had lunch. I drove to Malmö, to the hospital, for my appointment at 2 pm, the next dose of my colitis drip. I don’t really know what to call it. They call it drip here in Sweden, or drop, sometimes, but it’s an IV that is pumping the drugs into me, instead of out. It only takes 30 minutes and I was pleased to report no issues whatsoever with urgency or anything since we shortened the interval between doses to 6 weeks. She asked me if I would prefer to give myself a shot instead, at home, and I very quickly assured her that NO, I would not prefer that at all. *shudder* no thank you. I know I’m a big baby, but I’d much rather a professional takes care of any injections I need.
I actually got online for work for about 15 minutes late this afternoon, as I had a translation job quote to forward, a question to answer, and a file to download. Took care of all that, AND replied in a PPT ticket that I would normally have taken and worked on, that they can go ahead with the presentation as is, as I won’t be back until August 17th, and it was good enough.
Tomorrow, Anders will work from home in the morning, and then we are leaving at 12:30 to pick up Martin and Theo in Malmö and head to Copenhagen to see The Odyssey. The IMAX theater is at Fisketorvet (The Fish Square) shopping center, so there is parking there. Apparently you get 6 hours of free parking, but you had to input the license plate of the car when you bought the tickets, which we didn’t know about. We’ll see when we get there if we can fix it. I suspect we’ll eat dinner somewhere nearby, if not in the mall itself. The movie is at 2:15 and is 3 hours long (!), so we’ll be done at 5:15 and the mall doesn’t close until 8 pm. I just checked their website and they have a Five Guys! There’s quite an extensive food court/hall, which is good. I’m hoping it will be a little less expensive to eat there, as Denmark is so bloody expensive (and there are six of us).
It was warm and sunny all day today until about an hour ago, and now a quite chilly breeze is blowing, and we have a good draft through the house. Yay! It’s clouded up quite a lot but there’s no rain forecast until Monday, and I hope not even then because Monday I have both a lunch in Lund and a family dinner (birthday!) in Malmö and Tuesday is an AIC lunch at Malmöfestivalen. If it rains, I don’t think anyone will show, and I won’t want to go either.
