Whew. Under the wire. TWO weeks before he responded, and it took 3 messages in the ongoing medical chat, a voicemail requesting the renewal, and another phone call this morning. Geez. I was completely stressed out about this. He at least apologized and said he’d been home sick and there isn’t anyone else covering his patients. Which is ridiculous. I couldn’t exactly berate him because it feels like it’s a bigger problem, but what if he’d been sick for even longer? Surely the healthcare clinic would have a plan in place to cover for him?

I’m still working from home, still on crutches this week. I saw the physiotherapist last Tuesday and she told me crutches for 2 weeks, salve on the knee, and a simple gliding back and forth exercise whenever I’m sitting. When I’m sitting is about the only time my knee DOESN’T hurt. I’ve been really lucky that my manager allows me to work from home for this extended period. Our office has a long trek from the parking lot to the building, through the building, and long corridors that I’d have to manage. You can’t carry anything easily with crutches either, and I just have no ork for that.

Luckily, I haven’t had a lot of meetings and the ones I have had were fine to take over Teams, and my team is very understanding. However, I’d really like to get to the office at least a little bit soon. We had another shock re-org last week as well. Half of my manager’s team is moving to another department. We’re losing 5 full-time illustrators and 3 consultants. We’re keeping two plus a consultant. Everyone was super upset and shocked, and I haven’t been there at all to talk to anyone or commiserate, which feels awful. We all understand the reason for the move/change, but it doesn’t make anything easier considering the illustration team is so close, and so is my graphic design team with them. I’m sad about it, too, and really wish there was a way for us to stay close. They’ll be in another building, and with a team that we don’t really work with at all, so it’s a big change for all of us after how close we’ve worked together for so long.

I’m listening to Spotify’s Discover Weekly while I’m writing this, and it’s just a long list of crap so far, nothing that I either like or want to add to my playlist. Disappointing. It’s actually not all BAD songs, just ones I either already have, don’t want on my playlist, or not new at all.

Anders is gone this week and next to Norway, though he’ll be home over the weekend. Tomorrow, both kids are coming home for dinner and the evening, which I’m really happy about. Karin was gone to Italy all last week, and I’ve barely seen Martin since Christmas. I wish Anders were home too, as he would also like to see the kids, I’m sure. You’ll never guess what we’re having for dinner. 😛

Mood: sore
Music: OK GO—A Stone Only Rolls Downhill

FINALLY got a response from my doctor and a renewal for my prescription of nerve pain medication which I would have run out of tomorrow.
