{"id":190,"date":"2003-11-27T10:30:00","date_gmt":"2003-11-27T16:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lizardek.com\/blog\/index.php\/2003\/11\/27\/thanks-giving\/"},"modified":"2022-07-05T14:55:49","modified_gmt":"2022-07-05T12:55:49","slug":"thanks-giving","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/lizardek.com\/blog\/index.php\/2003\/11\/27\/thanks-giving\/","title":{"rendered":"THANKS &#038; GIVING"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s not yet Thanksgiving in America, since it&#8217;s still the middle of the night there, and actually it&#8217;s not yet Thanksgiving for us either, since in Sweden, there IS no Thanksgiving, and our personal celebration is taking place on Saturday, which means we&#8217;re just using this fine tradition as an excuse to eat too much and party with a bunch of fun friends. Ain&#8217;t nothing wrong with that.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone else is making lists of things they&#8217;re thankful for, and I feel compelled to follow. <strike>Baaa<\/strike> gobble gobble<\/p>\n<p><b>Things I&#8217;m thankful for this year<\/b><\/p>\n<ul><font size=\"-2\"><\/p>\n<li>a husband who loves me and doesn&#8217;t give me (too) much shit about the time I spend on the computer<\/li>\n<li>my 2 happy healthy funny loving children<\/li>\n<li>my mother, sister and brother, for continually reminding me that family really is more important than anything else<\/li>\n<li>my friends, both offline and  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.livejournal.com\/~lizardek\/friends\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online<\/a>, who continually make me think, smile, care, and laugh<\/li>\n<li>having met <a href=\"http:\/\/galestorm.livejournal.com\/\" class=\"lj-user\">galestorm<\/a>, who in addition to being an interesting and funny person, has been responsible for kick-starting my artistic life again, and giving me the incentive, after reading her ENTIRE journal, to start my own. You&#8217;re my journal-writing role model.<\/li>\n<li>inspiring and hilarious writers and artists and journals<\/li>\n<li>rants by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dooce.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dooce<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wittandwisdom.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Witt &#038; Wisdom<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/ozswede.livejournal.com\/\" class=\"lj-user\">ozswede<\/a>, among others<\/li>\n<li>this job that not only gives me freedom and creative challenges, despite its drawbacks, but money as well<\/li>\n<li>the ability to type and read REALLY fast<\/li>\n<li>the ability and health to somehow manage to do most of the things I want to do each day<\/li>\n<li>and too much more that is ultimately only interesting to me<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s not yet Thanksgiving in America, since it&#8217;s still the middle of the night there, and actually it&#8217;s not yet Thanksgiving for us either, since in Sweden, there IS no Thanksgiving, and our personal celebration is taking place on Saturday, which means we&#8217;re just using this fine tradition as an excuse to eat too much and party with a bunch of fun friends.
