I&#8217;ve increased the total number of books every year since I started keeping track, from 104 to 110 to 113 in the past three years. I don&#8217;t know if I&#8217;m getting faster at speed-reading or if the books are smaller. Though some of the books I read this year could totally be used in house-building as bricks, so I don&#8217;t think that&#8217;s it.<\/p>\n<p><b>Best books of 2007<\/b> (in no particular order and including no re-reads):<\/p>\n<p>The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell<br \/>\nThe Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield<br \/>\nThe Liar&#8217;s Club by Mary Karr<br \/>\nA Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin<br \/>\nMystic and Rider books by Sharon Shinn<br \/>\nSpoken Here by Mark Abley<br \/>\nSomething Rising (Light &#038; Swift) by Haven Kimmel<br \/>\nEvidence of Things Unseen by Marianne Wiggins<br \/>\nNiagara Falls All Over Again by Elizabeth McCracken<br \/>\nThe Abhorsen series by Garth Nix<\/p>\n<p>I can&#8217;t list the best films that I saw this year because they were so few.
