This week is kicking my ass. It’s Thursday evening and I cannot WAIT for the weekend. Anders told me that he talked to his sister today and she said she has only 11 work days left until retirement. Her husband is even closer. It made me start having retirement fantasies. Maybe getting closer to retirement is a GOOD thing? Hmmm. We have one person out for personal reasons, and I have been feeling fairly overwhelmed after taking over 2 of her projects, on top of all the ones I already have. I do a lot of smaller booth design projects, but she tends to take the big ones, and one of them required a LOT of complicated back and forth this week. I’ve sent off final files for it now, and for the other one, so am hoping they will both be closed in the next day or so. I took on another booth project this morning as well as one I already had on my own, so it’s a lot of booth panels going on right now. My manager has been super supportive and has given me lots of praise and pep this week, which helps. Stress seems to be affecting my digestive system as well, so I need to calm down and not let anxiety ramp up a colitis relapse.<\/p>\n
Anders came home today, and we had a quiet evening watching Fr\u00e5ga Lund<\/em>, and talking about tomorrow and the weekend. In the morning, he is going to take the Tesla to Malm\u00f6 to drop it off for repairs (from the fender bender in the parking lot a couple of weeks ago). Then he’s coming home and I will either drive the rental car or his car to work. He’s going in to Lund for a goodbye lunch and after work, and I’m meeting Camilla and Martin at Folk for dinner. We don’t know if the Tesla will be done tomorrow afternoon, but we are hoping so, though it means another run to Malm\u00f6 to pick it up, and I have to be back in Lund by 5, so fingers crossed the timing all works.<\/p>\n I keep forgetting to post anything, though I THINK about posting all the time. I had dreams last night about my father, and about Martin when he was young, and I woke up happy about them, but of course couldn’t remember anything minutes later. <\/p>\n Karin and Essie are in Bologna for a long weekend; they left yesterday. Essie gave Karin the trip for her birthday. She’s been sending photos all day, and I’m envious. Our trip to Normandy feels very long ago. I told Anders recently that going to Norway is on my list for our next trip! We went when I was a teenager, and I loved it, and even though I’ve been back to Oslo, I’d like to see more of the country and see the fjords again. Maria’s daughter and her sambo have a summer house somewhere, so maybe we could go stay there for a few nights as part of a journey. Plans for next spring\/summer! After Anders’ retirement party, of course.<\/p>\n I’ve been zooming through really good books by really good writers lately. Slow Dance<\/em> by Rainbow Rowell, Exit Party<\/em> by Emily St John Mandel, Ode to the Half-Broken<\/em> by Suzanne Palmer, and yesterday I finished Barbara Kingsolver’s latest novel: Partita<\/em>, which was SO good. I couldn’t put it down. And now I have a new Becky Chambers book that I’ve just started (yay!): As You Wake, Break the Shell<\/em>.
